A legacy of structures since 1975

In a city that is home to some historic structures like the Pune University and the famed Shaniwarwada, an alumnus of the College of Engineering Pune became the backbone of notable landmarks, in India and many other countries.

Prof. Y S Sane founded a structural consultancy practice in the year 1975, an organisation that has become a trusted and well-known name in the field of structural consultancy. Started as a proprietary practice, it has now evolved into JW Consultants LLP.

Over four decades, JW Consultants LLP has stayed true to the meticulously selected tenets of professional practice, while combining superior design and quality standards with stringent compliance.

Over the years, JW Consultants LLP has been driven by innovation and has created its footprint across residential, commercial, industrial, retail, institutional, hospitality, and healthcare sectors, among others. This presence goes beyond Indian borders and has left its mark on structures in Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Tanzania and many more countires.

In recent times, JW has delivered more than 7 million square metres of space, in terms of design, in a single year. With its head office in Pune, and a well-established infrastructure that involves a skilled workforce, a time-tested design process, latest technology and international standard software platforms, JW is always ready to serve its esteemed clientele.

Partners

While it was founded by Prof. Y S Sane, JW Consultants has been driven by a fine combination of experienced minds and youthful hearts. In 1982, Mr. Umesh Joshi and Mr. Achyut Watve joined Y S Sane and have led the team from the front.

In 2007, Mr. Nikhil Joshi joined JW Consultants and then in 2008 Ms. Rucha Watve came on board. The injection of youth, combined with the experience of the old hands, has witnessed a glorious chapter in the journey of JW Consultants LLP.

Umesh Joshi | Partner

Mr. Umesh Joshi joined Prof. Y. S. Sane's practice in 1982. He brings with him immense knowledge of the field, expertise that has evolved over time and leadership skills that guide the team at the organisation. A Gold Medalist during Bachelors in Technology from the illustrious College of Engineering Pune and a Masters in Structural Engineering from IIT Powai, speak volumes about his academic excellence. While leading a team of 80 engineers, he is involved with about 500 projects every year. He has worked extensively on the organisation's high-rise building projects in Mumbai. His professional memberships include:

Achyut Watve | Partner

A part of at JW Consultants since 1982, Achyut Watve has been driving the operations at the organisation for almost 3 decades now. A Civil Engineer by qualification from College of Engineering Pune, he is mainly responsible for designing and finalising structural systems for residential, commercial and industrial projects. His immense experience and expertise make him not just a leader, but a force to reckon with in executing challenging projects. His professional memberships include:

Nikhil Joshi | Partner

A second generation professional, Nikhil Joshi has been associated with JW Consultants as a Partner since 2007. Mentored by his father Mr. Umesh Joshi, and holding a Masters in Civil Engineering Structures from the City University, London, UK, he has the experience of working in the United Kingdom as well. While leading a team of 135 skilled engineers, he brings to the table his young energy, in addition to his extensive knowledge about the emerging trends in Structural Engineering, His professional memberships include:

Rucha Watve | Partner

With a Masters in Civil Engineering from the reputed Purdue University, USA, Rucha Watve has been working with JW Consultants as a Partner, since 2008. Under the mentorship of her father Mr. Achyut Watve, she has honed her skills in structural engineering, and today leads a team of 135 skilled engineers at the organisation. Her exposure to the emerging trends in the field of Structural Engineering have seen her pass on her knowledge to the team and be a part of some iconic projects executed by JW Consultants. Her professional memberships include:

The Head Office which serves as the primary design office for JW Consultants is located right in the heart of Pune and is spread across a space of 35,000 sq. ft.
